India are inconsistent, Pakistan Devictors

India made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Sadanand Viswanath and Gopal Sharma made way for India’s 1983 World Cup-winning wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani and Laxman Sivaramakrishnan. Pakistan made T(a)h(i)ree – Ashraf Ali, Manzoor Elahi and Naqqash made way for Saleem Yousuf, Mohsin Kamal and Abdul Qadir. It was a 45-overs-a-side match.

Kapil Dev, India’s captain, won the toss, inserting the Pakistanis, whose openers put on 18. Mohsin Khan, who faced 15 balls, scored just a couple. He was run out.
