Dravid-led India leave Pakistan disappointed

Neither India nor Pakistan made any changes to their playing elevens. On winning the toss, Rahul Dravid, India’s skipper, and the player of the match, won the toss.

The second Powerplay of India’s innings was between the 11th and the 15th over. India scored 50 off 10.2 overs. The openers – Virender Sehwag and Dravid – scored 25 apiece. The Pakistanis had conceded an extra.

The third Powerplay of India’s innings was between the 16th and the 20th over. Sixteen overs into the match, the first drinks break was taken. India had scored 78 without the loss of a wicket at that point. While Sehwag was batting on 42 then, Dravid was batting on 35.

Sehwag’s half-century – which included nine boundaries – came off 59 balls. India scored 100 off 20 overs. While Sehwag was batting on 53 at that point, Dravid was batting on 44. Pakistan had conceded three extras.

Dravid’s half-century – which included eight boundaries – came off 60 balls. Sehwag, whose 83-ball innings included 10 boundaries and a six, scored 73. A hundred and fifty-five balls into the match, Shahid Afridi broke the 138-run partnership.

India conceded 18 extras. Pakistan, who were dismissed for 218 off 45.2 overs, lost by 51 runs. Sreesanth, who bowled 7.2 overs, conceded 30. He picked up a wicket. Agarkar bowled eight overs, including a maiden. He conceded 30, picking up a wicket.

Harbhajan, who bowled 10 overs, conceded 57. He picked up a wicket. Powar and Pathan bowled 10 overs each, picking up three scalps apiece. While the former conceded 61, the latter conceded 35.

The two-match series was levelled 1-1.

Pakistan beat Dravid-led India

It was the first time the capital of the United Arab Emirates was hosting a One-day International.

India made three changes to their playing eleven – Dinesh Karthik and the Singhs (R P and V R V) made way for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ajit Agarkar and Harbhajan Singh. Pakistan (Moham)made a couple of changes to the eleven that last played the Indians – Yasir Arafat and Sami made way for Shahid Afridi and Naved-ul-Hasan.

Pakistan scored 200 off 48.3 overs. India had conceded 23 extras at that point. The fifth-wicket pair put on 50 off 54 balls. While Younis’ contribution to the partnership was 23, Akmal was batting on 24. India conceded half-a-dozen extras.

Younis, whose 96-ball innings included four boundaries and the only six of the innings, eventually scored 71. He was unbeaten, as was Akmal, who didn’t add to the aforementioned score.

India scored 23 extras. Pakistan, who scored 201 for the loss of four wickets off 48.3 overs, won by half-a-dozen wickets with nine balls to spare. Pathan bowled nine wicketless overs, including a maiden. He conceded 46. Harbhajan bowled 10 wicketless overs, including a maiden. He conceded 46.

Sreesanth bowled 9.3 overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded 34, picking up a wicket. Powar bowled 10 overs, including a maiden. He conceded 27, picking up a wicket. Agarkar, who bowled 10 overs, conceded 33. He picked up a couple of scalps.

The Pakistanis led the two-match series 1-0.

Dravid-led India trounce the Pakistanis

India made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan made way for Ramesh Powar and Zaheer Khan. Pakistan made just one change to their playing eleven – Salman Butt made way for Rao Iftikhar Anjum.

On winning the toss, Rahul Dravid, India’s skipper, inserted the hosts. The first over of Pakistan’s innings – bowled by Zaheer Khan – was a five-ball over, called by Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar.

Pakistan scored 50 off 9.2 overs. India conceded 13 extras. Their second Powerplay was between the 11th and the 15th over. Imran Farhat, whose (Sreesan)thirty-three-ball innings included three boundaries, scored 24. Sixty-five balls into the match, he was caught by the Kerala pacer, who broke the 62-run stand.

Kamran Akmal, whose 34-ball innings included three boundaries, scored 25. Eight balls later, he was caught by R P Singh. Sreesanth broke the nine-run stand. Shoaib Malik, whose 17-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored a dozen. Fifteen balls later, he was caught by Suresh Raina. Sreesanth broke the six-run stand.

He was unbeaten. India eventually conceded 21 extras. Pakistan scored 286 for the loss of eight wickets off 50 overs.

Pakistan scored 15 extras. India, who scored 287 for the loss of two wickets off 46.5 overs, won by eight wickets off 19 balls to spare. Malik bowled three wicketless overs, conceding 22. Arafat and Razzaq bowled eight wicketless overs apiece. While the former conceded 51, the latter conceded 49.

Mohammad Asif bowled nine wicketless overs, conceding 48. Sami bowled 8.5 overs, conceding 65. He picked up a wicket, as did Anjum, who bowled 10 overs, conceding 44.

India won the five-match series 4-1.

Dravid-led India clinch (Pakist)another series

On winning the toss, Rahul Dravid, India’s skipper, inserted the hosts. Kamran Akmal, who faced 13 balls, scored three. Forty balls into the match, he was caught by Suresh Raina. Irfan Pathan broke the 15-run stand.

Salman Butt, whose 36-ball innings included a boundary, scored (Sreesan)thirteen. Twenty-seven balls later, he was caught by Dravid. The Kerala pacer broke the 12-run stand. Shoaib Malik, whose 25-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Nine balls later, he was caught by Pathan. R P Singh, the player of the match, scored two-run stand.

The fourth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Younis Khan, who faced a ball, didn’t open his account. The next ball, he was trapped leg before wicket by R P. Pakistan made a couple of changes to the eleven that last played the Indians – Rao Iftikhar Anjum and Arshad Khan (Moham)made way for Asif and Umar Gul.

On winning the toss, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s skipper, inserted the Indians. Virender Sehwag, whose six-ball innings included a boundary, scored five. Seven balls into the match, he was caught by Kamran Akmal. Asif broke the five-run stand.

The Pakistanis trounce Dada-led India
