(Srikk)An(o)ther Indo-Pak ODI is abandoned

It was a 40-overs-a-side match. The Indians made a Kapil of changes to their playing eleven – Sachin Tendulkar and Vivek Razdan made way for Sanjay Manjrekar and Dev. The Pakistanis (Moham)made just one change to theirs – Mansoor Akhtar made way for Shoaib.

Krishnamachari Srikkanth, India’s skipper, won the toss, inserting the hosts. The openers didn’t get off the mark. Rameez Raja, who faced five balls, didn’t open his account. He was trapped leg before wicket by Manoj Prabhakar. Mohammad faced 32 balls, scoring 13. He was unbeaten.

The second-wicket pair didn’t open its account. Saleem Malik, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. Prabhakar dismissed him. Javed Miandad, who faced 20 balls, scored just a couple. He was trapped leg before wicket by Prabhakar, who broke the 11-run stand. Imran Khan, Pakistan’s skipper, faced 28 balls, scoring nine. He was unbeaten.

India conceded four extras. Pakistan scored 28 for the loss of three wickets off 14,3 overs. Salil Ankola, who bowled 2.3 overs, wasn’t in seventh heaven, because he was wicketless, as was Dev, who bowled seven overs, including a maiden. He conceded 14. Prabhakar bowled five overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded five, picking up three scalps.

The match was abandoned due to crowd disruption. Pakistan led the three-match series 1-0.
