India (Sach)inflict another Pakistan defeat

India made just one Ch(auh)ange to their playing eleven – Rajesh made way for Nilesh Kulkarni. Pakistan made one change to theirs – Akram (Moham)made way for Kabir Khan. On winning the toss, Rameez Raja, Pakistan’s skipper, chose to bat.

Shahid, who faced four balls, (Afri)didn’t get off the mark. Needless to say, Debasis Mohanty was in seventh heaven. Saeed Anwar, whose 25-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored a dozen. He was caught by Harvinder Singh. Mohanty broke the 10-run stand.

Ijaz Ahmed, who faced 19 balls, scored four. He was caught by Mohammad Azharuddin. Mohanty broke the nine-run stand. Raja, whose 46-ball (Rob)innings included a boundary, scored eight. He was caught by Mohanty. Singh broke the 15-run stand.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, who faced 34 (Sa)balls, scored 10. He was caught by Karim. Singh broke the nine-run stand. The sixth-wicket pair put on 16. Moin Khan, who faced nine balls, scored a run. Harvinder ran him out.

Saleem Malik, whose 58-ball innings included half-a-dozen boundaries, scored 36. He was caught by Sourav Ganguly, who broke the 25-run stand. Azhar Mahmood, who faced 20 balls, scored eight. He was caught by Azharuddin. Ganguly broke the 24-run stand.

The ninth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark.  Mushtaq, who faced 54 balls, scored 21. HiS(aqla)innings included a couple of boundaries. He was caught by Karim off the bowling of Abey Kuruvilla.

Aaqib Javed, who faced five balls, failed to get off the mark. He was caught by Azharuddin. Kuruvilla broke the one-run stand. Kabir, who faced a ball, scored a run. He was unbeaten. India conceded 15 extras. Pakistan were dismissed for 116 off 45 overs.

Kulkarni, who bowled five overs, conceded 11. He was wicketless, as was Harvinder, who bowled eight overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded 19. Robin, who bowled half-a-dozen overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded 22, picking up a couple of wickets.

Ganguly bowled nine overs, including two maidens. He conceded 16, picking up two wickets, as did Kuruvilla, who bowled 10 overs, conceding 29. Mohanty bowled seven overs, including a maiden. He conceded 15, picking up three scalps.

Karim, whose 30-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Mahmood broke the 34-run stand. The second-wicket pair put on 29. Rahul Dravid, whose 25-ball innings included a couple of boundaries scored 14. Mahmood ran him out.

Ganguly, whose 86-ball innings included four boundaries, scored 32. He was caught by Inzamam. Saqlain broke the six-run stand. Tendulkar, whose 45-ball (Sach)innings included three boundaries, scored 25. He was unbeaten, as was Azharuddin, who scored 21. His 29-ball innings included a boundary.

Pakistan conceded 16 extras. India, who scored 117 for the loss of three wickets off 34.4 overs, won by seven wickets with 92 balls to spare. After the 16th over of the chase, crowd trouble, and Inzamam's scuffle with the crowd, delayed the play by about 40 minutes.

Kabir bowled three wicketless dot balls. Anwar, who bowled four wicketless balls, conceded a couple. Afridi, who bowled a wicketless over, conceded three. Ahmed, who bowled five wicketless overs, conceded 11.

Javed bowled 10 overs, including a maiden. He conceded 46. Saqlain bowled eight overs, including two maidens. He conceded 24, picking up a wicket. Mahmood bowled 9.3 overs, including a maiden. He conceded 28, picking up a wicket.

The Indians led the five-match series 2-0.
